What this tool does
Letter Frequency Counter ranks letters by count and percentage, with options for case-sensitive counting and digit inclusion.
Common use cases
Find repeated letters, character distribution, and letter balance in pasted writing, sample data, titles, or codes.
Use Letter Frequency Counter when pasted text needs counting, cleanup, rewriting, list preparation, formatting, or a final check before it goes into an email, document, CMS, spreadsheet, prompt, or publishing workflow.
How to use it
- Paste the text, title, product code list, or sample data you want to inspect.
- Choose whether uppercase/lowercase letters should be separate and whether digits should be counted.
- Review the ranked frequency list, summary counts, and copy the result for editing or QA notes.
Example workflow
Paste the text you need to count, clean, split, join, sort, or reformat. Review the word, character, line, sentence, paragraph, spacing, or list result, then copy the cleaned output into your document, spreadsheet, CMS, prompt, or editor.
Privacy note
Client-side only: letter frequency analysis runs in your browser and pasted text is not uploaded or stored.
FAQ
What does a letter frequency counter show?
It ranks letters by how often they appear and shows each letter count as a percentage of counted characters, which helps with editing, QA, puzzles, and sample-data checks.
Can it count uppercase and lowercase separately?
Yes. Turn on case-sensitive counts when A and a should appear as separate characters in the frequency list.
Does it include numbers?
Digits are ignored by default. Enable Include digits when you want numbers in IDs, codes, or pasted sample data counted with letters.
Does this letter frequency counter upload my text?
No. Letter frequency analysis runs locally in your browser and does not send pasted text to ClearUtils servers.
