Trimmed output

Internal spacing stays untouched. Use Remove Extra Spaces if you also need to collapse repeated spaces or tabs.

Trim line edges without changing the words

Use Trim Lines when copied text has leading spaces from indentation, trailing spaces from exports, or uneven padding around each row. It cleans the edges of each line but leaves the words and inner spacing alone.

When to use a different tool

If the text also has repeated spaces or tabs inside each line, move to Remove Extra Spaces. If you want to delete blank rows entirely, use Remove Empty Lines instead. For count checks before or after cleanup, use Line Counter.

Typical workflow

Paste a copied list, trim the line edges first, then continue with Remove Duplicate Lines or Sort Lines Alphabetically when the text needs structural cleanup.

What this tool does

Use this browser-local cleanup tool when copied text has indentation, trailing spaces, or uneven line edges that need to be cleaned without collapsing the content inside each line.

Common use cases

Trim leading and trailing whitespace from copied lines before further cleanup or publishing.

Use Trim Lines when pasted text needs counting, cleanup, rewriting, list preparation, formatting, or a final check before it goes into an email, document, CMS, spreadsheet, prompt, or publishing workflow.

How to use it

  1. Paste text into the editor.
  2. Review the trimmed output and confirm that the internal spacing still looks right.
  3. Copy the cleaned text into your document, spreadsheet, CMS, prompt, or editor.

Example workflow

Paste the text you need to count, clean, split, join, sort, or reformat. Review the word, character, line, sentence, paragraph, spacing, or list result, then copy the cleaned output into your document, spreadsheet, CMS, prompt, or editor.

Privacy note

This tool runs in your browser. ClearUtils does not upload, store, or inspect the text you paste to trim lines.
