Add bullets, quotes, brackets, labels, or other wrappers before sorting, joining, or copying the final list.

Prefix / Suffix Lines workflow tips

Use line wrapping when you need a repeatable text pattern rather than a cleanup pass. Add bullets, quote marks, list labels, bracketed tags, or markup wrappers before joining, sorting, counting, or pasting into another system.

Wrap lists and snippets

Add - before each line for a checklist, wrap values in "quotes", or add a suffix like ; or ] when preparing output for another format.

Clean before wrapping

Start with Trim Lines, Remove Empty Lines, or Remove Tabs when copied rows have spacing noise or stray tab characters.

Finish the wrapped list

After wrapping, use Join Text, Sort Lines Alphabetically, Remove Duplicate Lines, or Line Counter depending on the next workflow step.

When to use it

Use Prefix / Suffix Lines for browser-local prep work such as turning a pasted list into Markdown bullets, wrapping each row in spreadsheet-friendly delimiters, or adding consistent labels before another tool consumes the lines.

What this tool does

Use this browser-only Prefix / Suffix Lines tool to wrap each line with bullets, quotes, brackets, labels, or other reusable text patterns before sending the result to another app.

Common use cases

Wrap pasted lines with reusable prefix and suffix text before copying them into another workflow or format.

Use Prefix / Suffix Lines when pasted text needs counting, cleanup, rewriting, list preparation, formatting, or a final check before it goes into an email, document, CMS, spreadsheet, prompt, or publishing workflow.

How to use it

  1. Paste the list, notes, rows, or text block you want to wrap line by line.
  2. Set the prefix and suffix, then choose whether to trim line edges or wrap blank lines too.
  3. Copy the wrapped result into your spreadsheet, CMS field, checklist, prompt, or document.

Example workflow

Paste the text you need to count, clean, split, join, sort, or reformat. Review the word, character, line, sentence, paragraph, spacing, or list result, then copy the cleaned output into your document, spreadsheet, CMS, prompt, or editor.

Privacy note

Prefix / Suffix Lines runs locally in your browser. ClearUtils does not upload, store, fetch, log, or inspect your pasted text.

FAQ

Can I wrap lines with bullets, quotes, or brackets?

Yes. Add the same prefix and suffix to every line to create bullets, quoted rows, bracketed tags, or other repeatable wrappers.

Will blank lines be wrapped too?

By default, empty lines stay unchanged. Turn on Wrap empty lines too when you need the prefix and suffix on blank rows as well.

Does this upload my text?

No. Prefix and suffix wrapping runs locally in your browser and does not send pasted text to ClearUtils servers.
